Working on a Collection

I've always had a great love for cooking (especially baking), but there are two things that kinda ruin it for me. First, doing the dishes afterwards. Second, wading through the seemingly never-ending plethora of recipes out there and finding the ones that my family and I will love to eat over and over again. I married a picky eater and as a result I now have a picky child as well, so I have been collecting recipes and cookbooks for several years. The problem is that I rarely have the chance to try out new recipes, so it hasn't been a priority. Well, that's going to change. We've been looking at the possibility of having to move again soon and I don't want to keep lugging all those cookbooks & recipe cards around with me, so my newest project will be working on my own recipe collection.

What I plan to do is try out at
least three new recipes each week, and I'm hoping that within a year or so I will have a great collection put together. Then I'll just have to find a way to have it bound into a cookbook and I can get rid of all those other books. I'm not sure how this will affect this specific blog... whether I'll have less time to put recipes on here because I'll be working on the collection, or if I'll be blogging more about all the recipes I've tried out. (I hope it's the latter) If anyone reading this blog has some recipes of their own that they love to use over and over, I would love you to share them with me. Trav loves to say that 'if it's not broke, don't fix it' applies to food. If you find something that works, don't mess with it. Thus, if anyone could share recipes with me that they know are great, then that'll save me a lot of time with this project. Wish me luck!
